Gene Baratta

Although Fairway Packing Co. officially opened in 1991, the Baratta families experience dates back over 50 years when the late Emmet S. Baratta, along with his brothers, opened their first wholesale meat packing company.

Through the years, Mr. Baratta had a fine reputation with restaurant owners, chefs and managers, throughout the South-Eastern Michigan area.

In 1990, both hard work and experience helped Mr. Baratta and his sons to start their second family-owned wholesale packing company, Fairway Packing, in Detroit's Eastern Market. His sons now bring 30 years of their own experience to the family business.

His sons, who now own and operate Fairway Packing, have enjoyed a steady growth. They take great pride in and carry on with the same quality service, excellent products, and the expertise that their father has passed on to them.
